Day 1
Marrakech - Tizi n Tichka - Kasbah ait ben haddou - Draa valley - Zagora
This memorable trip starts with the scenic drive from Marrakech over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2’260 m), where you can spot the traditional Berber villages with its inhabitants working and chatting at the roadside. Shortly before the desert capital Ouarzazate, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot.
After crossing the Anti-Atlas, you arrive at the green and peaceful Draa Valley which is famous for its huge date groves and henna fields.
Now it is time for the desert! Zagora is the last city before the real wilderness starts.
Upon arrival, you’ll meet your camel leader and head to the desert on top of your friendly camel while the sun sinks below the horizon. Just before dark, you will arrive at the Sahara Desert Camp where you can settle in your private tent. A traditional dinner is served and you can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums.
Day 2
Zagora - Agdez - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Today, you can get up early to enjoy the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy your breakfast in the camp and hop on your camel for the ride back to Zagora.
On our way back through the Draa Valley in direction Marrakech we’ll stop in Ouarzazate for lunch and sightseeing in the Kasbah Taourirt or in the movie museum. The city of Ouarzazate with its film making studios hosts a lot of international film productions and is also known as «Hollywood of Morocco».
Afterwards, we’re heading back to Marrakech over the Atlas Mountains.
