Your guide will meet you after breakfast at your hotel accommodation or at the MENARA MARRAKECH AIRPORT holding a sign with your name. We leave the bustling city of Marrakech to climb the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi’ntichka Pass at 2260 m. Along a road full of hairpins and winding our way over the craggy mountains, you will see small fortified villages built into the sides of mountains taking us from a modern world, back in time. Melted snow, from mountain tops flows down the mountain side to make spectacular waterfalls.Our surrounds are stunning with the colors of conifers, palms and oleanders. We will stop for some tea made with local herbs for you to taste the environment, before our stop at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou for lunch. This village was added to the World Heritage List of UNESCO, it is entirely made of mud, straw bale and adobe. It is also a very popular location for Hollywood producers for it’s photogenic and ancient setting. Many international films such as ‘Gladiator’, ‘Babel’, ‘Lawrence of Arabia’; and many, many more were filmed here. We head back to Ouarzazate, along the road of the thousand Kasbahs, and continue to the Dades Valley, where we shall dine and overnight stay in a charming hotel.

After early breakfast we will take a little walk at the Dades Gorge, then drive back to the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, through the village of Tineghier with its Jewish Quarter, to reach the Todra for a stop. We will walk around to discover the beauty of this region. Then, it’s on to Merzouga via Rissani and Erfoud. We arrive in time for a camel safari along the dunes to reach the foot of Erg Chebbi, to spend the night in our well-equipped SAHARA LUXURY CAMPS. We will have a Moroccan dinner and be entertained by a nomadic Berber drum party. Spend your evening star gazing. Reach out and touch the Milky Way. See how many star constellations you can name. Turn into your luxury tent, with your private ensuite. Because we are solar-powered at the camp you can enjoy a hot shower before the most restful sleep you can imagine.

Wake early, as the nomads do, and seize the day. There will be plenty oftime for yoga or meditation before breakfast for early risers. Enjoy the majesty of a sunrise and then a hearty desert breakfast seved by our friendly camp chef. As you breakfast, watch the shimmering, rolling layer of fine sand rush across the desert dunes, reshaping them, buiding something entirely new. This happens every day. It is a reminder that those who stand still stagnate. Not the desert, and so not us. This desert magic has inspired many writers and photographers, one of the most famous was Paul Bowles, who wrote ‘Sheltering Sky’. The chaos of the world ends in the desert. This is where you become one with the universe, and life starts over. All aboard our 4×4 we head north, crossing the mountains of the Middle Atlas driving through a most magnificent cedar and hazelwood forest. The landscape changes dramatically around Azrou, Ifrane – popular center for winter sports, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco.” Yes there is snow in Morocco! We stop in Midelt for coffee and pastries and then on to Fez, the oldest of the Imperial cities, and the most important historical and artistic center of Morocco. We will deposit you to your hotel or to the Airport.
